Privacy Notice
This notice covers the information collected when you order online from, or call the phone menu of:
1. Who is responsible for your information
The restaurant named above decides what to do with the information you give when you order, and is the one responsible for it.
The restaurant uses an ordering service provider, which runs the ordering software and handles that information on the restaurant’s behalf and only on its instructions.
2. What is collected
What you type in: your name, phone number, email address, and for a delivery your address and any instructions you add. Your order itself, including items, options, any note to the kitchen and any tip.
If you sign up for texts: the mobile number you give, and a record of your sign-up: when, where (for example at checkout or by texting JOIN), and the exact wording you agreed to.
If you call the restaurant’s phone menu: the number you call from, the time and length of the call, the keys you press and the language you choose. Calls are never recorded, and there is no voicemail.
What the page collects to work: basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, needed to serve the page, keep your cart, and block fraud and abuse.
Your card details are not collected here. They go straight to Stripe, the payment processor. Neither the restaurant nor its ordering service provider ever sees your full card number.
3. What it is used for
Taking, preparing and delivering your order; contacting you about that order; taking payment and handling any refund; keeping the restaurant’s records of its sales and customers; preventing fraud and abuse; and meeting legal and tax obligations. Answering your call to the restaurant’s phone menu, putting you through to the restaurant when you ask, and sending the one text you ask for by pressing a key. Only if you agree to them, the restaurant’s marketing texts (section 6).
4. Who it is shared with
The restaurant. Your order and contact details appear on their order device and on the printed ticket. When you call the phone menu, the restaurant sees the call in its call list with your number partly hidden, and if you press 0 to talk to someone, its phone shows your number so staff can call you back.
Stripe, to take the payment and process refunds.
Uber, on a delivery only. Your name, phone number, address and order details are shared so a courier can bring it, and the courier may call or message you.
Service providers that run the ordering service for the restaurant: the ordering service provider itself, the email service that sends your order confirmation, Cloudflare’s bot check on the payment step, Mapbox for the address suggestions when you type a delivery address, the phone and text message service (Twilio) that answers the restaurant’s phone menu and carries the restaurant’s texts to you and your replies back, and the hosting, storage and error monitoring the ordering page runs on.
Your information is not sold, and it is not shared for advertising. Your mobile number and your agreement to receive texts are never shared with or sold to anyone else for their own marketing.
5. Marketing emails
At checkout there is a tickbox asking whether you would like marketing emails from the restaurant. It is ticked by default, and unticking it before you place the order means no.
If you leave it ticked, the restaurant may email you about offers and news, using its own email tool. The ordering service provider does not send marketing email. It records your answer and the restaurant takes its customer list from there.
To stop them, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the confirmation email for any order you placed, or ask the restaurant directly using the contact details at the top of this page. Once you unsubscribe, placing another order will not put you back on the list; you would have to ask the restaurant to add you again.
6. Marketing texts
The restaurant named above may text you its deals and reminders, from its own number, but only if you agree. You agree by ticking the text box at checkout or on the order confirmation, by signing up on the restaurant’s sign-up page, or by texting JOIN to the restaurant’s number. The text box is separate from the email box, starts unticked, and ordering never requires it.
The texts are recurring automated marketing messages. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. You get one text confirming your sign-up, without any offer in it.
Reply STOP to any text to stop them at once, or say so in your own words, such as “please stop texting me”, and HELP for help. After you opt out, ordering again or ticking a box later will not sign you back up; texting START to the restaurant’s number does. The record of your sign-up and of your opt-out is kept, so the restaurant can show what you agreed to and when. If you ask for your information to be deleted (section 9), the sign-up record and the texts you exchanged are deleted too, except that after an opt-out the number and the date you opted out are kept, so you are never texted again.
Pressing 1 or 2 on the restaurant’s phone menu sends you one text with the link you asked for: to order online, or the restaurant’s location and hours. That text is not marketing, does not sign you up for any other texts, and is the only text the call sends. A number that has opted out is not sent one.
Mobile information is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging sign-up information and consent are not shared with any third party, except the text message service that carries the restaurant’s texts.
7. What is stored on your own device
Your basket is kept in your browser so it survives a refresh. If you tick “remember my details on this device”, your name and contact details are saved in that browser too, so you do not retype them next time. That copy never leaves your device, and unticking the box deletes it immediately.
In the restaurant’s app, the same saved details are on the Profile screen, and Clear profile deletes them from the device at once.
8. How long it is kept
The restaurant keeps order records for as long as it needs them to run its business and meet its tax and accounting obligations. You can ask for your details to be removed sooner, as below.
A call to the phone menu keeps your number for 90 days. After that your number is removed from the call, and from the text a key press sent you, and the restaurant keeps only the time, length and keys of the call, with nothing that points to you.
9. Your choices
You can ask for a copy of the information held about you, or ask for it to be deleted, on this restaurant’s Delete your data page, or with the “Manage your personal data” link at the bottom of the confirmation email for any order you placed. Either way the request is confirmed through the email address on your orders. That is how you are recognised, since ordering does not create an account and there is nothing to log in to.
The copy includes your text sign-up and the texts you exchanged with the restaurant. Deleting removes them, keeping only the number and date of an opt-out, as section 6 explains.
The copy also includes calls to the restaurant’s phone menu from the number on your orders, while they still hold it (section 8). Deleting removes your number from those calls. For calls from another number, contact the restaurant using the details at the top of this page.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including in California, and you can also contact the restaurant directly to exercise them.
10. Children
The ordering page is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13.
11. Changes
This notice may be updated. The notice that applies is the one published at the time you placed your order.
